Rock N Romance Pt. 2

Hello everyone, it’s time for the second part of my Rock N Romance review!

If you didn’t read part 1 yet, you can find it hereI saved two amazing pieces for this review, both of which I have had my eye on for a while!

The first one is the amazing Swing Jacket by Seamstress of Bloomsbury, a total love at first sight!

As I am rather short and somewhat generously built (thanks grandma!), I usually avoid clothing without a defined waistline, so this jacket would be an absolute no-no in my universe. But the heart wants what the heart wants, and when Rock N Romance were sending me pieces to review, this was my only wish. I really wanted to do another photoshoot with my beloved Basset girl, and this jacket seemed perfect for it!

I’m glad to say that my instincts were right and that, even though it has that classical swing shape, this jacket is flattering even to my figure!

It’s just another proof of how important tailoring is, and how well the Seamstress of Bloomsbury do it. The padded shoulders give the jacket structure  and form, while the ¾ turnup sleeves elegantly leave the lower part of the arm and wrists exposed.

The jacket also has only three buttons, stopping just at the top of the bust, silk lining, and wonderful deep pockets.

I left this amazing dress for last.

It’s a very popular opinion that every closet needs a little black dress. I share this opinion, but also firmly believe that you can’t really have too many black dresses.

Take this one, for example. Light, airy crepe fabric, matching buttons, a nice, long fabric belt, and that stunning bodice! V neck, with gorgeous dotted tulle sleeves and shoulder-area, it makes it, in my eyes, the perfect going-out dress!

I did the twirl test in it, of course, because oh gosh, who could resist, and as you can see, it moves beautifully!

The final dress verdict is as follows (scale of 5):

Fit *****

Flatter *****

Ease of maintenance ***

Ironing Required: YES

Pockets: NO

Until next time!
