Step into Summer with Rose and Brimstone

I love all seasons in their own very special way. Summer is a bit more difficult for me to love, as I have very sensitive skin, but it is nothing a good sunblock and a parasol or a hat can’t cure!

Now, as some of you may have already noticed, as of last Autumn, I have started modelling for a wonderful new vintage style shop called Rose and Brimstone. My love for small businesses is no secret, and I am always delighted when I get to be a part of their journey and growth!

Rose and Brimstone have an adorable brick and mortar shop in Belfast, but they also sell online.

We “met” on instagram, and when I asked if they would be interested in a cooperation, they were very receptive and sweet.

So this Spring i received a lovely little surprise parcel from them with 6 gorgeous outfits for me to supplement my summer wardrobe with, and do a little review for you!

They know me and my taste very well, and the pieces they chose are truly lovely!

The first outfit, the one I fell in love with right off the bat, is this gorgeous baby blue dress with the novelty pink cadillac print!

It is very comfortable, has just the right amount of stretch, and the sweetheart neckline is just at the right height to make it a versatile day dress.

The second item is a very cute and very sweet casual A-line “Sweet Heart” skirt. I freely admit it’s the only denim skirt in my closet, and for me it falls just at the knees, which is about as high as I go for a skirt. It can be matched with a t-shirt or a blouse, depending which look I want to go for. I have been matching it with a peter-pan collar blouse lately, and there is just something incredibly cute about the combo I can’t seem to get enough of!

Speaking of things I can’t get enough of… This skirt!

It’s called “Take me to Paris” and has that gorgeous border print I love so much, featuring famous Parisian scenes. The main body of the skirt is in pale blue with adorable little polka dots, while the edge is pink and adorned with roses. I wore it with a deceptively simple top– a pale pink tee with a large soft satin bow in the back.

This season seems to be all about novelty prints, which is more than fine in my book!

I’ve always wanted an atomic print anything, as that seems to be one of the most iconic vintage prints. It has been on my wishlist for a long time, and I was so delighted when I saw this little dress in the package! It looks so cute and so fresh, and is very light and comfortable, the perfect everyday summer dress!

When I was a little girl, I used to grow cacti. Somewhere along the way I lost my ability for that benevolent neglect they, like all succulents, seemt to thrive on, but I can still keep them close to me with this gorgeous cactus-print dress! And it is such a happy coincidence that last year my straw hat needed a ribbon, and the very first one I found was this green one that matches the outfit perfectly! I was planning on replacing it at some point, but never really got around to it. Now I’m glad that I didn’t! (ps. the dress has pockets!)

I saved the most beautiful dress for last! This stunning 50’s style dress has a cherry blossom print, thin straps with decorative ribbons, and is decorated in blue glitter. In all honesty, I think this may be the perfect summer party dress. As it’s made of 100% cotton and you might want to double check the measurements, as they gave this one a little more generous cut.

My summer seems to be all about pinks and blues with a dash of green this year. I even have a matching bandana! I can’t say I have any cause for complaint!
