Buckle up, because I am about to share a big secret with you. Are you ready? I am super lazy when it comes to my hair. It’s rather fine, there is a lot of it and it is completely and utterly straight. Getting it to hold a curl is a chore, and unless I am shooting, I prefer to have it either in a braid, loose or in a bun. This is doubly true for humid days when it becomes almost completely unmanageable. That’s one of the reasons why I am always experimenting with new curling methods and setting patterns. I am always trying toRead More →

You know how sometimes you look at something and think- where has this been my whole life? And how that little something can fill a need you never even knew you had? Well, this dress did it for me! I recently had to part with one of my favourite basic black jersey dresses from a large fashion chain store, which was my go to piece when I needed to look well put together in a hurry, and which I could wear with both flats or heels. I was prepared to just go pick up another, identical one, but frankly, if I did it now, IRead More →

Oh Tiki dresses, how I love you… let me count the ways! No, it can’t be done! I have skirted around the idea (heh, get it, skirted) of a Tiki dress for the longest time, and then Norma Jean Vintage LLC came, and the rest is, as they say history. And a closet enriched by several Hawaii and Tiki dresses of such design it makes my heart sing every time I look at them! This dress was tailored especially for me, to suit my measurements and figure, and I could not be happier with it! The fabric does not stretch, and it provides excellent supportRead More →

Hello darlings! I’m sure you have already seen a few pictures of me wearing the blue and green playsuit from Norma Jean Vintage, and it’s about time I reviewed it. Playsuits are a new thing in my world. I considered getting one for a while now, and admit to having patterns for one in my closet for ages already, but I never found one in shops that I would like enough, and never really found the time to make one for myself. And then came the surprise from Norma Jean Vintage LLC! They sent me a few pieces to review and photograph, and one ofRead More →

As the weather becomes a little warmer, I am getting more and more chances to wear this dress, finally! I like to wear a dress once or twice outside of a shoot to get a good feeling for it and see how it behaves in real life, and this one truly delivers. It is a fully lined day dress with seriously deep pockets, side zip fastening and a very cute collar button that gives you a keyhole neckline. It also comes with a matching fabric belt. Now that we have the specs aside, what’s it really like? Incredibly comfortable! Both the dress and the liningRead More →

Hello everyone! It’s taken me a little while to get back on track with my reviews, in part because the weather was very unfriendly and in part because I seem to have developed a condition in my wrists which makes typing a bit difficult for long stretches of time. Since I type for my work, and classes, at the end of the day I am usually in too much discomfort to blog. However, there are some beautiful things to cheer me up, and one of them is this stunning dress from Dolly and Dotty!   It was just love at first sight, truly! I’m notRead More →

I live in a very strange neighborhood in a very strange city. The old mingles with the new, and a good portion of the block is simply overgrown and abandoned. And in the midst of it all, is a small off-off-theater.  It’s run by a rather eccentric neighbor, but a real sweetheart none the less. His theater entrance seemed like the perfect backdrop for these unusual pieces. The first one is the Callous Crow switchblade cardigan, With their beautiful stitching and a frankly stunning pattern. This cardigan features both front and back stitching, and is made of soft, light cotton, perfect for even the warmerRead More →

I promised you this post last week, but my exams got in the way! Now that I finally have some time for a blog post again, I am excited to tell you about the Callous Crow t-shirts.   Now, while you don’t really see me in t-shirts on my page or blog, or Instagram (shameless self-promotion here), I own a pretty big collection of them, as they are my go-to hiking gear and favourite thing to wear with a pair of vintage style jeans.  Most of them are silkscreen t-shirts ranging from band shirts to (and these are in the majority), nerdy and geeky t-shirts,Read More →

Last week I promised you all something that will be not only for the ladies, but also for the gents reading my blog and… *insert drum roll* here it is! I teamed up with Callous Crow to model some of their amazingly cool ties! Can you tell I’m excited about them? My stepfather taught me how to tie a tie one day while we were all getting ready to go someplace nice for lunch, and I was hanging around chatting with him while he was getting ready. After I got the basics down, he gave me two of his ties to practice more on andRead More →

How many cat print dresses are too many? Is it like cats, where one cat is enough cats? If so, I am failing most horribly, because I already have two cats, and now a second cat print dress. This one was also part of my Black Friday haul from Voodoo Vixen, and I fell in love with not only the little kitties peeking out from it, but also the warm and rich colours of the pattern. I was a bit worried about the pattern itself, as it is rather busy, but I figured I might as well step out of my comfort zone for cats,Read More →
