Scary Tiki Time

I’m not usually big on shades of pale blue. I always have the need to pair them with baby pink and then it kind of all goes the way of giggling and lacy aprons and wondering if I should make myself a nice calming cocktail and  have a few canapes to calm my nerves.

This time I was saved from an attack of the 50’s by the print of this Suki dress by HellBunny from Rockabilly Pinup.  It features a wonderful Tiki and horror inspired design, full of cocktails, sugar skull ladies and flamingo skeletons, amongst other things, all on a base of aqua fabric with a white hibiscus print.

The only problem with this dress, really, is me. I dropped some weight recently, so the dress isn’t as snug as it should be, and I think that is what makes the front part where the bust pieces overlap create that crease (who, me pedantic, nooo), so you might want to keep an eye on the measurements when ordering it, especially since it has shirring in the back which will give you a bit more slack in it.
This dress also features pockets which is, if you ask me, something every dress (except the wiggle ones) should have by default!

As I was putting it on, it occurred to me that I wear far too few halter neck dresses (even though there are a few in my closet and I pet them lovingly every time I reach in there), and that this one should definitely be the first to take a stroll out in the city, especially now the weather is so beautiful. Perhaps Mr. V. should take me out on a date in it!

I complemented the dress with these beautiful and glittery pineapple earrings and pendant from Atomic Lace (I promised there would be more of their stuff to come), and I am seriously delighted by how well they fit together! Atomic Lace has risen very swiftly to the list of my favourite brands, and I hear whispers of their upcoming apparel collection, which I will have to get my hands on!
As always, thank you Villy V for the photos!
Until next time!
xoxo
